Fix you a plate

A phrase used to describe a unit of measurement amongst African American communities at lunch or dinner. Usually covered with aluminum foil often seen at barbecues, fish fries, and family functions (see: reunion)
e.g. “Go head and fix you a plate before you go.” (via blackproverbs)

Plate is life

(via flawlessxqueen)

Legit though I love this. It’s like we love you, take a plate home and enjoy. Be happy with some food to go.

Do this at a “white” function and get the stank eye for real. They’re like I know you aren’t leaving with our food you dirty scoundrel.

(via lana-del-swag)

This is really silly. This is a southern thing not a black versus white thing. In the south both blacks and whites use this phrase. It’s southern hospitality and around a southern white family it’d be more likely that you’d get a stank face for not making yourself a plate.

the fact that women have to fake orgasms so that dudes who dont care about giving them orgasms dont have to feel bad about not giving them orgasms after making no effort to in the first place is ridiculous

It’s a pity that he could not have played Castle.

So I was on Facebook and I saw this picture and looked at the comments (I know, why in the world would I do that) but wow.. I did not expect to see pages of positivity and people sticking up for this woman. (I have a lot more screen shots) Incase anyone is losing hope, just know that as hopeless as things may seem with all the misogyny and sexism we’re exposed to.. Things are gonna change. Slowly, but surely. Don’t give up everyone!

This is the first time I ever seen someone saying something positive on facebook

I remember commenting on this after reading how horrible some of the comments were, even from girls…

But you have to understand that when both my cousin and I came out as bisexual to our great-aunt, she told us we were too young to label ourselves.

You have to understand that both of my brothers are gay and came out to her before the ages of 15. She had absolutely no problem.

My great-aunt is a 69 year old lesbian.

You have to understand that not every aspect of biphobia has to do with homophobia.
